{"id":18746,"date":"2022-03-27T07:00:02","date_gmt":"2022-03-27T11:00:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/briwebapp.net\/cjwffm\/?p=18746"},"modified":"2022-03-25T07:19:45","modified_gmt":"2022-03-25T11:19:45","slug":"kenny-rogers-life-celebrated-at-memorial","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/briwebapp.net\/cjwffm\/blogs\/country-music-news\/2022\/03\/kenny-rogers-life-celebrated-at-memorial\/","title":{"rendered":"Kenny Rogers Life Celebrated At Memorial"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Kenny Rogers&#8217; close friends, family and band members gathered at Oakland Cemetery in Atlanta, Georgia on Sunday, March 20th to pay their respects to the singer who died two years ago to the day.<\/p>\n<p>Until then, a celebration of his life was put on hold due to the Covid-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>The outdoor ceremony was hosted by long-time touring partners Linda Davis and Billy Dean, with over fifteen speakers paying homage to Kenny and telling personal stories about a life well-lived.<\/p>\n<p>The ceremony concluded with the Dr. T. Lynn Smith and Friends gospel choir singing \u201cAmazing Grace\u201d along with a pre-recorded Kenny Rogers vocal and a performance of \u201cWill The Circle Be Unbroken,\u201d one of the late singer&#8217;s favourites.<\/p>\n<p>As the guests filed out, the event concluded with an Irish sendoff by Brigadier General (Ret.)
