To Help Our Local Food Banks"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>As someone who was a committee member of the June 27th Miracle FOOD DRIVE , food insecurity in our communities is a problem I can\u2019t ignore.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>The reality is hunger exists for those living in Windsor-Essex County. Last year, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadahelps.org\/en\/charities\/unemployed-help-centre-of-windsor\/events\/pastabilities-luncheon-lets-tackle-hunger-together\/\">UHC &#8211; HUB OF OPPORTUNIIES<\/a> received over\u00a0190,000 visits\u00a0collectively through the Windsor Essex Food Bank Association (representing 15 local food banks across Windsor-Essex). The need continues to grow as they&#8217;ve already seen a\u00a028% increase\u00a0in the number of children accessing our food banks in the first half of 2023 compared to 2022.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>My friend JUNE MUIR, the CEO of the UHC &#8211; Hub of Opportunity is holding one of their biggest fundraisers of the year: The PASTABIITIES Luncheon, to help tackle hunger.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>This is in\u00a0partnership with the Culinary Federation of Windsor. This includes one type of pasta (meat or vegetarian) and a dinner roll.
