Kenny Chesney knows he has an ego when he’s performing, But he doesn’t let it leave the stage.<\/p>\n
“I think you have to have a little bit [of ego] to be great up there [with] the way we do things. I work really hard at leaving that person up there. I don’t take that person with me backstage in my everyday life.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
When it comes to connecting with his fans, Kenny says they know immediately if something is disingenuous.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen you\u2019ve been doing this for a minute, the trick is to make a record that pushes your audience, but doesn\u2019t alienate them to a point where it\u2019s disingenuous.\u201d he explained. \u201cOne thing I learned about being up there on stage and being in this intimate place with them [fans] over the years is\u2026 they know pretty quickly if it\u2019s disingenuous from me. We have to keep that in mind, but we also have to push the envelope a bit.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
