{"id":28807,"date":"2024-05-30T05:55:38","date_gmt":"2024-05-30T09:55:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/briwebapp.net\/cjwffm\/?p=28807"},"modified":"2024-05-29T11:07:34","modified_gmt":"2024-05-29T15:07:34","slug":"darius-rucker-breaks-silence-on-drug-arrest","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/briwebapp.net\/cjwffm\/blogs\/country-music-news\/2024\/05\/darius-rucker-breaks-silence-on-drug-arrest\/","title":{"rendered":"Darius Rucker Breaks Silence On Drug Arrest"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Darius Rucker&#8217;s new memoir &#8220;Life&#8217;s Too Short&#8221; came out yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>He talks about breaking into country music, his time with Hootie, and how he partied WAY too hard back then.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, he&#8217;s also dealing with more recent issues and finally broke his silence on his drug arrest in February.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/darius-rucker-says-february-arrest-sucks-exclusive-8654362\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">He told &#8220;People&#8221; magazine<\/a> he was shocked because of how long ago the actual incident happened.<\/p>\n<p>Daris was arrested on February 1st, almost a year after being pulled over near Nashville for expired tags.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u00a0&#8220;I had a little bit of pot, and I think a little bit of some mushrooms or something in the car, and [the cop] let me go. And a year later, I got a phone call from a buddy that said, &#8216;I think I just saw an arrest warrant for you.'&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>He says some friends in law enforcement told him it&#8217;s odd for that much time to pass, and asked if maybe he&#8217;d ticked somebody off or something.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u00a0&#8220;I think somebody wanted to make an example out of me, and they did.
