Brett Young has been married to his wife Taylor for six years now, and they have two beautiful little girls, Presley and Rowan.<\/p>\n
It would be easy for Brett to write nothing but happy songs that reflect where he\u2019s at in his life, but he realizes he needs to write a wider variety of songs to give all of his fans something they can relate to.<\/p>\n
But Brett says the heartbreak songs he writes today are also inspired by his wife.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve always tried to be authentic or honest every time I write a song about exactly what I\u2019m going through in my life. And then I realized I can\u2019t alienate people that are still heartbroken. I still gotta write that song. And just because I\u2019m not going through it, I gotta draw from past heartbreak and remember what it felt like. And for me, the hardest thing I ever went through was when my wife and I broke up for two years when I first moved to Nashville, because there was a big part of me that always knew we weren\u2019t supposed to be broken up. I was supposed to be with her. And so, I actually draw from heartbreak with my wife years ago, in order to write songs.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
