The four co-wrote the song while Brett was on the road opening for Lady A, and Charles tells us he caught wind of the writing session and created an opportunity for himself.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;The very un-shy guy that I am I said, &#8216;You guys writing a song?&#8217; I said, &#8216;Well, if y&#8217;all need any extra inspiration I&#8217;m available today.&#8217; Anytime you can kind of hop in there . . . Obviously Brett had had so much success and we&#8217;ve become buddies and I wanted to be a part of whatever his journey was. It&#8217;s always fun to kind of soak up some of these guys&#8217; energy that are really on a hot streak like he was and we just went in there and had a good time and had this idea started and just kind of came out.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;Here Tonight&#8221; was a two-week Number One on the Billboard country chart.
