Ella Langley<\/strong> just dropped a great story.  She was onstage and revealed the inspiration for her new song “Choosin’ Texas”<\/em><\/strong> that she wrote with Miranda Lambert<\/strong>.  And it’s a kangaroo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yes, you heard that right.  So how does a kangaroo inspire a hit song?  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Ella, it happened during a writers retreat with Miranda, Joy Beth Taylor<\/strong>, and Luke Dick<\/strong>.  Everyone was swapping ideas when Miranda dropped a wild story.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She once got pulled over on a dirt road with a baby kangaroo in the back seat and her dog riding shotgun.  And of course she had Texas plates on the car.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That’s when Ella joked, “She’s from Texas, I can tell.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And that line stuck . . . and it turned into the hook.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ella said after they figured out that part, they finished the rest of the song in thirty minutes.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n
