In a\u00a0new interview with NPR<\/a>\u00a0Kacey Musgraves<\/strong>\u00a0confirmed her long-rumoured feud with\u00a0Miranda Lambert<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The tension stemmed from a 15-year-old incident involving “Mama’s Broken Heart,” which Musgraves wrote while at Warner\/Chappell. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“It was gonna be my first single, and I loved the song so much. Then, the song gets pitched to [Miranda] without my consent or knowledge.”\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Lambert recorded the track for her 2011 album,\u00a0Four the Record<\/em>, where it peaked at No. 20 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2013. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

After years of not speaking, Musgraves recently reached out to Lambert about collaborating on her new track, “Horses and Divorces.”\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 8-time Grammy winner says that during the recording session, \u201cWe aired out any of the old laundry. We had some laughs and wrote the song in a matter of a few hours.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The duet will appear on Musgraves’ upcoming album,\u00a0Middle of Nowhere<\/em>, set for release on May 1 via Lost Highway. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
