Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt honoured the late country music legend\u00a0Toby Keith\u00a0by officially declaring July 8, 2026, as “Toby Keith Day” throughout the state. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Stitt presented the written proclamation to Keith’s daughter Krystal during an Oklahoma Film and Music Day event on April 7th at the state Capitol.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Krystal performed the national anthem before accepting the honour on her father’s behalf. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The proclamation recognizes Keith for “rising from humble beginnings to become one of the most successful, influential, and recognizable country music artists in American history.” <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Keith received additional recognition with the Special Director’s Award at the 65th annual Western Heritage Awards on April 11th in Oklahoma City. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
