Just weeks prior this passing, Tim McGraw covered one of their biggest hits, &#8220;Drive.&#8221; Check it out below&#8230;<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The original Cars version was not actually sung by Ocasek on lead vocals, but that didn&#8217;t stop Tim from passing on his sympathies after news of the singer&#8217;s death.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Man&#8230;so saddened to hear about the passing of Ric Ocasek, lead singer of <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/thecarsband?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@thecarsband<\/a>, and legendary producer to many.  His music was inspirational to me.
