Ford apologized in a press conference Thursday stating that he promised to not touch the Greenbelt, but broke that promise he made to Ontarians. This comes after the auditor general found a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/londonnewstoday.ca\/london\/news\/2023\/08\/09\/auditor-ford-favoured-developers-made-billions-off-greenbelt-changes\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">report<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> of a plan to build 50,000 new homes on about 7,400 acres of Greenbelt land. A few days after the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/cknewstoday.ca\/Chatham\/news\/2023\/08\/30\/integrity-commissioner-housing-minister-should-be-reprimanded-for-greenbelt-land-swaps\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">report <\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">was released, former Housing Minister <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ola.org\/en\/members\/all\/steve-clark\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Steven Clark<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> resigned from the position. The Ford government told reporters that they will continue to work with developers to address the housing crisis in Ontario.<\/span><\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.etfo.ca\/news-publications\/media-releases\/etfo-reaches-tentative-agreement-at-education-worker-central-table\">Tentative agreement has been reached:<\/a><\/strong><b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> After weeks of deliberation, the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.etfo.ca\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Elementary Teachers Federation of Ontario<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> has finally reached a tentative agreement. After the local president and chief negotiators have a meeting, members of the ETFO will share details of the agreement to its 3,500 education workers. As for the other 80,000 teachers and occasional teachers, there hasn\u2019t been an agreement reached. Strike votes for teachers and other members will continue but votes for education workers will not proceed.<\/span><\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/londonnewstoday.ca\/london\/news\/2023\/09\/22\/breaking-mpp-monte-mcnaughton-leaving-politics\">Local MPP leaving politics:<\/a><\/strong><b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> MPP <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ola.org\/en\/members\/all\/monte-mcnaughton\">Monte McNaugton<\/a> will be stepping down. McNaughton spent over a dozen years serving as the <a href=\"https:\/\/montemcnaughtonmpp.ca\/lambton-kent-middlesex\/\">Lambton Kent Middlesex MPP<\/a> being elected in 2011. He also served on Premier Doug Ford\u2019s cabinet as the Labour Minister and was the Minister of Infrastructure, Immigration and Training and Skills Development. McNaughton will be leaving politics to pursue a career in the private sector.<\/span><\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo\/?fbid=769735788287695&amp;set=a.522070419720901\">Brescia faculty not on board with integration:<\/a><\/strong><b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> The <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/brescia.uwo.ca\/hr\/working_at_brescia\/faculty_association.php\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Brescia Faculty Association<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> released a statement saying they were \u201cblindsided\u201d by the decision to integrate with <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.topuniversities.com\/universities\/western-university\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Western University<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. They claimed the college ignored and disrespected the students and everyone who worked there as they were not informed or consulted. \u201cIt is an affront to our students, who were promised the unique educational experience that a women\u2019s university provides\u201d the university said in a statement.<\/span><\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/londonnewstoday.ca\/london\/news\/2023\/09\/22\/london-to-host-three-day-folk-music-festival-in-october\">Three day folk festival coming to London:<\/a><\/strong><b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> London will be hosting its own Oktoberfest.The festival will take place October 12th to the 14th in <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.downtownlondon.ca\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">downtown London<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.
