The slow-moving trucks will be coming to the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.labattbrands.com\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Labatt Brewery<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> from a habour in Sarnia. The tankers left Sarnia on Monday and are expected to arrive this afternoon. Outages will only occur through parts of the city expecting to begin 12 pm Tuesday to 11 pm Wednesday. The affected areas will include Fanshawe Park Road West, Fanshawe Park Road East, Stoneybrook Crescent, Highbury Avenue North, Hamilton Road, and Horton Street. In a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/london.ca\/newsroom\/public-service-announcement\/heavy-haul-beer-tanks-moves-through-london-tuesday\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">statement<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, the city said &#8220;People driving are advised to expect delays and use alternative routes when possible as this massive load, which measures 33.53 metres in length and 6.62 metres wide, will likely occupy two lanes of traffic while travelling at reduced speeds through these areas,&#8221; Londoners can visit London Hydro\u2019s <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.londonhydro.com\/outages\/outage-map\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">outage map<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> or call 519-661-5503 for more information.<\/span><\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/londonnewstoday.ca\/london\/news\/2023\/11\/06\/cmha-backs-out-of-homeless-hub-plan\">Homeless hub plan changed as CMHA backs out:<\/a><\/strong><\/em><b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> The Canadian Mental Health Association Thames Valley Addiction and Mental Health Services, which was set to operate two of the homeless hubs in London, has backed out. The <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/cmhatv.ca\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">CMHATV<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> announced in a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/cmhatv.ca\/cmhatvamhs-withdraws-rfp-for-womens-homeless-hub\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">statement<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Monday &#8220;Due to circumstances beyond our control, we are no longer able to proceed with the execution of our proposal. It is with great disappointment that we announce our decision to withdraw our proposal for the Hub at 705 Fanshawe Park Road and 566 Dundas Street,&#8221;. The CMHATV was approved for 20 transitional beds at the <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.lighthouseinns.ca\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Lighthouse Inn<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> and 10 overnight respite beds at <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/mysistersplace.ca\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">My Sisters\u2019 Place<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> for women. These locations were planned to be the first of 15 homeless hubs. Ward 7 Councillor <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/london.ca\/government\/council-civic-administration\/city-council\/councillor-corrine-rahman\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Corrine Rahman<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, who voted against the proposed locations, said she <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/londonnewstoday.ca\/london\/news\/2023\/10\/03\/episode-209-corrine-rahman-on-why-she-wants-to-delay-some-of-the-homeless-hub-plan\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">received hundreds of emails<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> from concerned residents and businesses about the impact the hub will have on the community. The hubs proposed at 329 Richmond Street, 800 Commissioners Road, and 550 Wellington Road by Youth Opportunities Unlimited and Altosha will continue as planned.<\/span><\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/londonnewstoday.ca\/london\/news\/2023\/11\/03\/london-area-jobless-rate-down-after-four-straight-months-of-increases\">London employment rate improves in October:<\/a><\/strong><\/em><b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Statistics Canada released its <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www150.statcan.gc.ca\/n1\/daily-quotidien\/231103\/dq231103a-eng.htm?HPA=1&amp;indid=3587-2&amp;indgeo=0\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">October\u2019s unemployment rate numbers<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> last Friday and London\u2019s figures dipped to 5.8 per cent last month. In September it was 6 per cent which was the first time in five months the rates did not go up. According to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.statcan.gc.ca\/en\/start\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Stats Canada<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, about 2,000 jobs were added to the London market last month. The London area saw a population jump of 1,800 which brought the population number to 493,700, resulting in a 0.2 per cent increase in working-aged people employed or looking for work. Ontario\u2019s unemployment rate rose to 6.2 per cent from September\u2019s 6 per cent number.<\/span><\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/londonnewstoday.ca\/london\/news\/2023\/11\/02\/ontario-deficit-balloons-to-56b-as-fall-economic-statement-is-introduced\">Ontario deficit rises to $5.6B:<\/a><\/strong><\/em><b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> According to the Minister of Finance, balancing Ontario\u2019s budget may take some time. On Thursday <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ola.org\/en\/members\/all\/peter-bethlenfalvy\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Peter Bethlenfalvy<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> delivered the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.budget.canada.ca\/fes-eea\/2022\/home-accueil-en.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Fall Economic Statement<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> which projected a $5.6 billion deficit for the 2023-24 fiscal year. This is four times the $1.3 billion budget estimated in 2023. Earlier this year Bethlenfalvy said the budget would be balanced by 2025, but due to the ongoing war in Ukraine and terror attacks against Israel, these numbers have been pushed to 2026. Ontario saw a population growth of almost 500,000 this year which corresponds to the 170,000 job increase. Organizers of the event were worried that if they could not secure a title sponsor, they would not be able to hold the annual event so many Londoner\u2019s look forward to. In a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsib.ca\/en\/news-release\/wsib-takes-next-step-establish-new-head-office-london\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">statement<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, WSIB President and CEO Jeff Lang said &#8220;When we saw the call go out for a title sponsor for New Year\u2019s Eve in the Park we knew this was the right thing to do,\u201d. The family friendly event takes place every year in Victoria Park which brings together thousands of Londoner\u2019s celebrating and bringing in the new year. Attendees can expect hours of live music, skating, a countdown followed by a fireworks display.
