Guns<\/em>. The classic lineup came together fast: frontman <strong>Axl Rose<\/strong>, lead guitarist <strong>Slash<\/strong>, rhythm guitarist <strong>Izzy Stradlin<\/strong>, bassist <strong>Duff McKagan<\/strong>, and drummer <strong>Steven Adler<\/strong>. While their Sunset Strip peers were doubling down on hairspray and glitter, GN&#8217;R brought something dirtier, meaner, and more dangerous \u2014 a raw blend of punk attitude, blues swagger, and arena-sized rock ambition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Their 1987 debut, <em>Appetite for Destruction<\/em>, didn&#8217;t just make waves \u2014 it became the <strong>best-selling debut album in U.S. history<\/strong>, moving over 30 million copies worldwide. Suddenly, a band that had been crashing on couches and playing dive bars was selling out stadiums on every continent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Biggest Hits<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You can&#8217;t talk about classic rock radio without these tracks in heavy rotation:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>&#8220;Welcome to the Jungle&#8221;<\/strong> \u2014 The snarling, siren-like opening riff that announced GN&#8217;R&#8217;s arrival. Lineup changes, long breaks, and the infamous 15-year wait for <em>Chinese Democracy<\/em> couldn&#8217;t dim their legend.
