Seventeen Number Ones

Fred had a long interest in music, and he knew he wanted to try his hand, but he took care of business first.  He attended the University of Vermont, and Vanderbilt University in Nashville, where he graduated in 1997.

His singing and songwriting were never far from his thoughts and his plans.

He signed with Capital Nashville in 2003, and his albums soon followed.  In 2005 Fred won the CMA Horizon Award and he was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry.  Fred is the third youngest member after Carrie Underwood and Josh Turner.

He has released eight albums, and twenty five singles, with seventeen of these reaching number one.

Fred also holds a pilot’s license and owns two small planes.

He uses his middle name for his professional music career, it is also his maternal great-grandmother’s surname, Dierks.

Join me next Saturday, January 25 at 9:20, for more with Dierks Bentley!
