William grew up in Rincon, Georgia and he was attracted to the Country Music scene as a child.  Not long after he started high school, he auditioned for a spot at the Opryland theme park.  The audition wasn’t successful, but it set William on his path to a career in music.

He moved to Nashville, and wrote songs.  To help ends meet, he worked at a concrete company. and as a personal trainer.   While working as a trainer, he met someone who encouraged William to record demo tapes, and keep on writing.  Soon, his songs were being recorded by George Strait and Tracy Byrd.  William was signed by Mercury Records.

William has since released six studio albums, eighteen singles, and has had eleven songs at number one.

William uses ‘Billy’ as his professional name.
