Luke Bryan Says He’s Making New Music For One Reason

Luke Bryan might’ve just given the funniest reason ever for staying in country music.

During a recent “CMT” interview, a group of fans messed with him by screaming, “Blake, we love you!”

Without missing a beat, Luke yelled back, “Kiss my butt!” 

That’s when the interviewer mentioned that Blake Shelton is still behind Luke in the total amount of #1s, and Luke’s proud of that fact.

“That’s the only reason I’m still in the game of country music . . .  to stay ahead.  I thought [Blake] was retiring . . . he’s back putting songs out.  It’s not the deal we had.”

As of now, Luke sits at 32 career #1 hits, with his latest being “Country Song Came On”.   And Blake is close behind with 30.  His latest #1 is his single “Texas”.

There’s nothing better than a mock rivalry, and Luke and Blake have one of the best.
