TikTok Loves This Morgan Wallen Song, But Fans Are Getting The Lyrics Wrong

There’s a new TikTok trend featuring “Silverado For Sale” by Morgan Wallen, and it’s racking up millions of views.

Guys are showing off their trucks, then flashing a photo of their girlfriend.  It’s wholesome and very on brand for country.

The problem is the lyrics.

The song is from Morgan’s 2021 album “Dangerous: The Double Album,” and it tells the story of a man selling his truck in the classifieds to buy an engagement ring.  Right before the chorus, the real line is, “Here’s what I want it to say.”

But TikTok has decided the lyric is, “Here’s what I wanted to say.”  That extra “ed” changes the meaning.  Fans have started pointing out that the song is about what he’s about to do . . . not something he’s already done.

Maybe it’s such a small detail, that no one really cares if they’re wrong? (Whiskey Riff)
