Megan Moroney And Ella Langley Make Country Music History On Billboard Charts
March 4, 2026 7:37 amMegan Moroney and Ella Langley have achieved a historic milestone for women in country music by simultaneously topping Billboard’s premier album and singles charts.
Megan Moroney’s third studio album “Cloud 9” just debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200.
That means Megan is only one of five women country singers ever to have a #1 album on the Billboard 200.
The others are Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, Shania Twain, and Beyoncé.
Meanwhile, Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” returns to No. 1 on the Hot 100 after first topping the chart three weeks earlier.
This marks the first time two women who primarily record country music have ruled both all-genre charts in the same week, dating back to the Hot 100’s launch in August 1958.
The achievement earns Moroney her first Billboard 200 leader and Langley her first Hot 100 No. 1.
“Choosin’ Texas” is the first single from Langley’s upcoming album, Dandelion, which will be released on April 10th.
