Jean LOUGHRAN of Fordwich, on Friday, in her 82nd year. Wife of the late Les Loughran. Mother of Mabel and Ken Foster of Fordwich, Edna and Paul Zimmerman of Harriston, Sally May and Stuart Yeo of Port Elgin, Lorne and Bonnie Loughran of Oxbow SK, and Robert of Fordwich, and mother-in-law of Eric Zimmerman of Neustadt, and Cathy Loughran of Palmerston. Grandmother of Michael and Jenn, Michelle and Brian, Matthew, Samantha, Tyler and Kristina, Tyson, Carlie and Steve, Caitlin and Trevor, Kelsey and Dan, Melissa and Christopher, Shawn, Jim and Jason, Jordon and Loretta, Adam and Holly, Matthew, Zach and Victoria, Nathan, and Lauren, and Great-Grandmother of Shelby, Nick, Lia, Dakota, Noah, Adalynn, Leni, Ruby, Lawson, Ivy, Briar, Bodhi, Jase, Rory, Peyton, Oaklyn, and Vaia. Remembered by her sisters Edna Mannell of Dorchester, Elva VanDenBerghe of Sarnia, brother-in-law Murray Loughran of Listowel, and sisters-in-law Bernice of Thessalon, and Kathleen of Palmerston, and by her many nieces and nephews.
Jean was predeceased by her daughter Carol, son Leonard, infant daughter Joanne, brother Leonard Rolls, and her parents Harry and Annie (Beisel) Rolls.
Jean worked for many years at the Fordwich Village Nursing Home. She loved to bake bread and anything sweet. When Les and Jean were younger, they loved camping at Sauble Beach. She spent many, many hours quilting with the BIC ladies, but more than anything she loved her family.
In her retirement years, Jean enjoyed reading books and watching the cooking channel on tv coming up with new recipes to try on the family.
Visitation will be held at the Hardy-Lee Funeral Home, on Thursday from 2 until 4 and 6 to 8 PM. Family interment and committal services will be held at Fordwich Cemetery on Friday at 12:45 PM, followed by the Funeral Service at Fordwich BIC Community Church at 2 PM. Arrangements entrusted to Hardy-Lee Funeral Home, Harriston.
Memorial donations to Fordwich BIC Community Church or Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
