She was born on June 30, 1953, a daughter of the late Sydney and Kathleen (Stevenson) Smith. Alison is survived by her husband David Walter Johnston whom she married at Teeswater on March 26, 1982; 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Stephanie and Matt Koch, Melissa and Chris Stahlke; 4 grandchildren, Ainsley and Cassidy Koch, Hudson and Nixon Stahlke; her brother and sister-in-law, Julian and Janice Smith; her mother-in-law, Jean Johnston; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Douglas and Diahnne Johnston, Murray and Lori Johnston; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her father-in-law, Lloyd Johnston.
The funeral service will be held in Zion Lutheran Church, 202 Erie Street, Stratford on Friday, September 27, 2019, at 11 AM, family receiving friends from 10 until 10:45 AM. Reverend Jeff Laustsen will officiate. A time of fellowship and celebration of Alison’s life will be held at the Tavistock & District Memorial Hall, 3 Adam Street, Tavistock on Friday from 1 until 5 PM. Arrangements entrusted to Francis Funeral Home, Tavistock.
Alison was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Stratford where she had served on the Church Council; was a member of Tavistock Opti-Mrs.; a member and Past President of Tavistock Agricultural Society; was a Social Worker with PeopleCare in Tavistock and Delhi.
