Hastie, Jean (Age 73, Hanover And Formerly Durham)
December 3, 2019 9:15 amJean Edna HASTIE (nee Ferguson), of Hanover and formerly of Durham, on Saturday, November 30th, 2019 in her 74th year. Beloved wife of Keith Hastie. Loving mother of Patricia Heard of Vancouver Island, BC, and James Hastie and his wife Ruth Moore of Chatsworth. Cherished grandmother of Jennifer, Bradley, Davis, and Steven. Great-grandmother of Ayla and Jamie. Dear sister of Jessie Pitman, Ella White, Marshall “Mike” and Edna Ferguson, Joyce Barham, and Norman and Derlene Ferguson. Special aunt of Barbara and her husband John Duffin. Fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her twin sister Joan Rydall and her siblings John “Jack” Ferguson, Gladys Helm, and Nancy Talbot.
Jean worked at CIBC for over 25 years and specialized in mortgages. She was a recipient of the CIBC President’s award and the Chairman’s award.
Cremation has taken place. A casual come and go celebration of Jean’s life will be held at the Durham Legion, 271 Bruce Street North, Durham on Friday, December 6th from 1 until 4 PM.
As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or Durham Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to the McCulloch-Watson Funeral Home, Durham.
