December 10, 2019 9:45 amDoris PHILLIPS of Wingham and formerly Toronto and Wiarton, on Sunday, December 08, 2019, at the age of 95. Loving sister of Mary Bennett of Wingham. Doris will be missed by her many nieces, nephews and extended family. Predeceased by her husband John Phillips, parents David and Ethel (Ford) Finley, her brothers Harold and Robert, her sisters Edith Wardlaw, Gertrude Hynes, Nora Schroeter, Margaret Farrow and Betty Easterbrook-Blackwell, her brothers-in-law Lee Wardlaw, Dave Hynes, Len Schroeter, Jack Farrow, Ken Easterbrook, Roger Blackwell, George Prue and Roy Bennett.
While living in Toronto, Doris worked as a bookkeeper for Dominion Stores. Her and her husband John enjoyed many holidays at their cottage in Wiarton and moved there permanently after the sale of their home in Toronto to enjoy retirement. After the passing of her husband, Doris moved to Wingham to be closer to her sister and her family.
A private family service will be held at McBurney Funeral Home, Wingham with Reverend Jeff Hawkins officiating. Final resting place, Wingham Cemetery.
Memorial donations to a charity of one’s choice would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
