Marie COOPER (nee Keith) peacefully and with dignity in, Kincardine on Tuesday, January 21st, 2020. In August she celebrated her 100th birthday in the company of her many friends and family members. She and her late husband Jack (2003) farmed for many years on Concession 9, and their home was well known for its hospitality. Her family admires her hard work and tenacity and will miss her love, kindness and generosity: her sons Eldon Cooper and Brenda Fitzgerald of Tillsonburg and Donald Carl and Betty of Woodstock, her daughter Bonnie Colwell and Terry of Kincardine and her “adopted” son Casey Pouw and Marcie of Walkerton. She held a very special place in her heart for her grandchildren: Andrea and Mark, Michael, Dionne, Lisa and Emanuel, Dan and Sheila, Jo-Anne and Neil, Martha and Sam, Terra; and her thirteen great-grandchildren.
She and Jack loved dancing and travelling. Marie loved knitting, crocheting, and bid euchre, but she’ll be best remembered for welcoming everyone into her home.
She dearly loved her Trillium Court family, in particular, the staff whose love for her was so generously reciprocated, especially in recent weeks.
Visitation will take place at Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine on Friday, January 24th, 2020 from 5 to 7 PM and Saturday, January 25th, 2020 from 12 noon to 1 PM. The Celebration of Life will follow at 1:30 PM with Reverend Rob Hiscox as officiate.
In Marie’s memory, donations may be made to Kincardine & Community Health Care Foundation, or St. Matthew’s Anglican Church, Kingarf.
