Hulley, Don (Age 72, Egmondville)
March 5, 2020 10:19 amDonald Wayne HULLEY, of Egmondville, peacefully, following a courageous battle with lung cancer, on Monday, March 2, 2020, at the age of 72. Beloved son of the late Eldon and Marion “Dolly” Hulley. Don will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 51 years, Marj (née Reis) Hulley and their sons, Brent and April Hulley and Jason Hulley and Candis. Don was a proud and loving grandfather of Oakley. Left to reminisce days gone by are siblings and siblings-in-law Nancy and Gerry O’Reilly, Judy and Cam McLeod, Penny and John Lansink, Paul and Cathy Hulley, David Hulley, Douglas Hulley, Susan and Tony Arts, Sandra and Mark Melady, Evelyn Hinz, Wendy Reis and Donald and Linda Reis. Don will also be fondly remembered by his aunts Audrey Hackwell and Betty Hulley, and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, Don is predeceased by brothers-in-law Wesley Hinz and Douglas Reis, nephew Trevor Reis and niece Sandra McInally Melady.
During his life, Don worked as a licensed carpenter and in the maintenance department of the Seaforth Community Hospital. Don served his community through his volunteer efforts with the Seaforth and Area Fire Department and the Seaforth Legion, Branch 156. Throughout his years, Don worked hard and played hard. He always enjoyed a rousing game of euchre, Firehall rules; time spent at the cabin in Benmiller; fishing/boating with family and friends… all these things that were much more enjoyable with the occasional rye and Pepsi in hand.
Honouring Don’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or funeral service. Private family inurnment will take place in Maitlandbank Cemetery in the spring. Haskett Funeral Home, 87 Goderich Street West, Seaforth, has been entrusted with arrangements.
As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to Seaforth Community Hospital Foundation, Jessica’s House, Seaforth Firefighters Association or Seaforth Legion, Branch 156 would be appreciated by the family. Sympathy cards can be mailed in care of PO Box 1060, Seaforth N0K 1W0
