Bruder, Ruth (Age 87, Walkerton)

RuthRuth Bruder (nee Beninger) of Walkerton, entered Heaven’s gates in her 88th year on Wednesday, April 15th, 2020 after a lengthy stay at Hanover District Hospital.

Beloved wife of George Bruder (predeceased 2010) whom she married in 1956. Loving mother of seven children: Keith (and Sherry Lynn Frook) Walkerton, Bob (Mexico), Brenda (and Brian Blair) Kincardine, Ron (and Mairead McEvoy) Georgetown, Diane (and Tim Woodward) Hillsdale, Norma (and Rene Guay) Pickering, Murray (and Becky Slade) Innisfil, Ontario. Cherished Grandmother of 15 Grandchildren: Ben Bruder(Nadia), Cody Bruder (Jocelyn), Ryan Blair (Carolyn Wood), Heather (Blair) (and Jarrett Schnurr), Kyle Blair, Shannelle and Logan Bruder, Jeremy and Haleigh Woodward, Keara and Isaac Guay, Amanda and Brad Bruder, Bryanna and Ethan Bruder and four great-grandchildren. Survived by one sister-in-law Geraldine Beninger and nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents Norm and Hattie Beninger, mother and father-in-law Herbert & Lydian Bruder, brothers Wilbur and Harry Beninger, brothers and sisters-in-law Mary and Walter Bruder and Edna and Norm Kelly. Ruth spent her childhood years on the farm just outside of Formosa and was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School. Her faith was important to her and she was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Walkerton since their marriage.

In recent months she certainly practiced her resilience, patience, courage, strength and endurance after a stroke and return of cancer.

The family expresses their greatest and warmest gratitude to Dr. Labelle and all those who lovingly cared for their mother in Owen Sound and Hanover Hospitals. Also neighbours who continually helped Mom out after Dad’s passing since 2010.

Private Family service will be held at Cameron Funeral Home, Walkerton. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Interment in Calvary Cemetery, Walkerton. Memorial Donations to Hanover & District Hospital Foundation as expressions of sympathy. www.cameronfuneralhomes.com
