Kaufman, Wayne (Age 78, Hanover)
May 7, 2020 8:42 amWayne William Kaufman, of Hanover, passed away suddenly at his home on Monday, May 4, 2020. He was 78.
Born in Bentinck Township on October 15, 1941, to the late William “Bill” and Cora (nee Fortune) Kaufman. Wayne lived on the farm for many years with his brothers. He and his wife Elly raised their children on the farm as well, before moving to their new home in Hanover in 1989. Wayne was a quiet man and was devoted to caring for his wife when she was ill. After her death, he tended to his gardens to pass the time. He would love visits with his kids and especially the grandkids. He also spent many hours with his other favourite hobbies of woodworking and fishing. Wayne was employed with Durham Furniture for many years until his retirement. He had a faithful connection, and would frequently attend services at the Hanover Missionary Church.
Survived by son Brad Kaufman (Kirsten Hinds) and daughter Linda (Jason) Schuknecht both of Hanover. Loved grandfather of Caitlin (Dan), Kali, Joshua, Lukas, Evan (Shamila), Kennedy (Edward), Jamie, Eagan, and Clara. Fondly remembered by his brother Bruce (Brenda) Kaufman of Hanover, brother-in-law Jim (Ruth) Veen, and sisters-in-law Linda Kaufman and Dorothy Kaufman both of Chesley, Honey(John) King of Owen Sound, Dianne Veen of Durham, and Shirley Veen of Elmwood. Predeceased by his beloved wife Elly (nee Veen) Kaufman, parents Bill and Cora Kaufman, brothers Rick and Howard Kaufman, father and mother-in-law Klaas and Grace Veen, and brothers-in-law John Veen and David Veen.
In keeping with the Provincial mandates, a Private Family Graveside Service was held at the Hanover Cemetery on Thursday, May 7, 2020 at 10:30 am.
Memorial donations to the Cancer Society or to the Canadian Diabetes Association were appreciated as expressions of sympathy. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.mightonfuneralhome.ca
