May 19, 2020 10:01 amGlanville: Mr. Lloyd Noble passed away peacefully at his home on May 15th, 2020 in his 80th year. Survived by his loving wife Mabel (Westlake) of 59 years.
Loving father to Sharon Robbins, Teresa Glanville & Chris Cooper and Lisa Glanville & Joan Smith. Grandfather to Amy, Jonathan, Dennis, Kevin, Jamie and Tom. Great grandfather to Rebecca, Mathew, Jaxon, Charlie and Kailer. Missed by many siblings, in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by son Terry, parents John & Winnifred Glanville and in-laws Bill & Eileen Westlake.
Lloyd loved nature, he worked for the Maitland Conservation Authority for many, many years planting, cutting, splitting, pruning or anything you could possibly do to a tree. He looked after the Brussels dam checking flood levels and making sure the logs were in place. Lloyd was a huge supporter of the Brussels Legion. You might find him thawing fish, peeling potatoes or cutting up meat for any of the Legions many activities. He was the #1 Patron for over 40 years. He loved to play crib and euchre entering in many tournaments at the legion and win or lose always having a good time. He loved music and although he couldn’t play any instruments was quick to tell you if you were off-key. He enjoyed listening to his daughter sing and would often join in. Lloyd also loved his Saturday morning crosswords, his dictionary with worn down pages and thumb marks is evidence of this. He also enjoyed having coffee at Jr’s and hearing all the gossip. Lloyd loved his family, hunting with his brothers near Field way up north or travelling up Manitoulin Island to go hunting or fishing with his uncle Les.
A private family graveside service will take place.
In lieu of flowers and expressions of sympathy donation to the Brussels Legion Branch #218, Maitland Valley Conservation Authority, OneCare or Care Partners would be appreciated.
Cards of sympathy may be sent to Box 347 Brussels N0G 1H0. Condolences may be left at riversidefuneralhome.ca
