Guite, Peter (Age 82, Hanover)
August 18, 2020 9:27 amPeter Guite, of Hanover, passed away suddenly and peacefully at home on Monday morning, August 17, 2020. He was 82.
Survived by loving wife of 61 years, Maria (nee Rouw) Guite of Hanover. Father of David (Lydia) Guite of Woodstock, Judy (Brent) Falls, Glen Guite and Steve Guite all of Hanover. Loving grandfather of Laura (Chris) Murphy of Port Elgin, and Jessica (Tim) Elphick of Walkerton. He truly enjoyed his great grandchildren, who always made him laugh and gave him a twinkle in his eye; missing him are Emerson, Myrick, and Cacen. Remembered as special grandpa to Jake (Nicole) Fuller, and Josh (Megan) Fuller and their children Jayden, Easton, Alena, and Arlowe. Loved by his step mother Shirley Guite, half sisters Debbie Rizzo both of London and Laurie (Jeff) Brady of Mossley. Also survived by brother-in-law Bram (Bunty) Rouw of Bayfield, ON and sister-in-law Ann Rienstra of Seattle, WA. Predeceased by his parents Bernard Guite and Ruth Rowand (nee Gateman), infant son Edward “Eddie” and half brother Tom (Ina) Dawson.
Visitation at Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover, on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 from 6-8pm. As per the provincial regulations and COVID-19 restrictions, visitors are required to wear a mask when inside the funeral home. The maximum number allowed in the funeral home at any one time is 40 people including immediate family. All social distancing measures will be taken. A Private Family Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, August 20, 2020. Interment in Walkerton Cemetery, Walkerton, Ontario.
