Predeceased by wife Alene Clark in 2013 as well as parents Minnie and Walter Clark, siblings Percy, Albert, Gordon, Fred, Ross, Jean and Doris. Survived by 6 children; Cathie (Pete), Tom (Ewa), Susan (Al), Jim (Micki), Kevin (Peggy), and Douglas and by 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Herb was born in Woodstock, Ontario and raised on a farm. He enlisted in the army and served until the end of the war. He met and married his sweetheart, Alene and remained married for 62 and a half years until her death. After his marriage he joined the Department of Lands & Forests and became a game warden in Oxford, Perth, and part of Brant Counties. He was in service with the Ministry of Natural Resources for 35 years and ended his career in Wingham, Ontario. Two achievements that he was proud of during his career were the formation and implementation of the provincial hunter safety program and the fish ladder at Port Albert, Ontario. After retirement he served two terms as Reeve of Lucknow District. Dad enjoyed playing his fiddle, holiday dinners, and being with his family. He loved hunting with his beagle dogs. He was a kind and gentle man who went out of his way to help others. He will be sadly missed, but we know he is happy with mom. Arrangements entrusted to MacKenzie & McCreath Funeral Home, Lucknow. Private family visitation and burial will take place in accordance with Covid-19 restrictions. A memorial service is planned for the future. Donations to Nine Mile Villa or the Bruce County Historical Society are appreciated as expressions of sympathy. Condolences and donations online at www.mackenzieandmccreath.com
