Karn, Violet (Age 91, Hanover)
November 9, 2020 10:00 amViolet Karn (nee Priebe), of Hanover, passed away peacefully after a short battle with cancer at Chapman House Residential Hospice in Owen Sound on Saturday, November 7, 2020. She was 91.
Born in Sullivan Township on March 13, 1929 to the late John and Pearl (nee Weppler) Priebe. Violet was married to Harold Karn and soon began their lifetime of memories. Vi will be remembered by her children for instilling hard work ethic and good moral values. She was a stay at home mom and enjoyed watching her children grow. She was a member of St. Matthew’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Hanover.
Survived by children Gerald (Suzanne) Karn of Owen Sound, Jim (Jill) Karn of British Columbia, Doug (Karen) Karn, Donald (Jackie) Karn both of Hanover and Joan Edwards (Graham Taylor) of Kitchener. Loved grandmother of Michael (Krista), Steven (Lori), Stacey (Jeff), Shawn (Mary Jane), Angela (Matt), Brock (Laurie), Jana (David), Christopher, Shelley, Jason, Jordan and their significant others. Special great grandmother of 23. Vi will be remembered by her several sisters in law. Predeceased by her husband Harold Karn (2018) and sister Helen (Albert) Davis and brothers Elgin (Mary) Priebe and Lorne (Alma) Priebe.
Public Visitation will be held at Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover, on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 from 6-8pm.
As per the provincial regulations and COVID-19 restrictions, all visitors are requested to wear a mask when inside. The maximum number allowed at any one time is 40 people including immediate family. All social distancing measures will be taken.
A Private Family Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, November 12, 2020 at Mighton Funeral Home. Rev. John Polacok officiating. Interment along side her beloved husband Harold in Hanover Cemetery.
