William Richard “Dick” Poore passed away early on December 6, 2020 at the age of 82.  Much loved father of Gayle Poore and Elaine & Jeff Bohnert, cherished grandfather of Nicholas Bohnert.  He is now reunited with his precious wife Grace.  He will also be missed by his special little friends Elizabeth and William and his hunting buddy Chuck.

Dad was born on his father’s birthday in London Ontario and was raised in Parkhill.  He worked for CIBC for over 30 years moving around Southwestern Ontario to various branches.  While working in the Dresden branch, he met the love of his life.  They settled in Kitchener where we were born.  They moved to Hensall, Bryanston and finally put down permanent roots in Blyth where he was the bank manager for many years.

After he retired he followed his passion for woodworking, building a variety of items for people including cabinetry for our house.  His biggest project was to turn the MCI highway coach into a well-used motorhome.

In his later years, Dad could be found out for coffee with the guys or snoozing in the big chair with his favourite felines, Peighton and Tigger.  He also discovered cruising where he visited Alaska, sailed through the Panama Canal and explored the Caribbean.

Visitation will be at the Falconer Funeral Home, Blyth Chapel, on Tuesday, December 8th  from 6 to 9 pm.  Due to Covid-19 protocols, reservations are required and may be made by contacting the funeral home.  A private family funeral will be held on December 9th at 11:00 AM from the Falconer Funeral home by invitation only, again in keeping with the Covid-19 protocols.  The service will be available for live (or delayed) streaming on Falconer’s website.  We wish you could be with us in person but hope you will join us this way to celebrate Dad’s life.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Clinton Public Hospital Foundation or to a charity of your choice.  We appreciate all the care and compassion from the staff of the Clinton Public Hospital during his time spent with them.
