Aileen was a 70 year member of the CWL, and legion member for many years. Mom was an extraordinary seamstress and made many outfits for friends and family alike. She once sewed a beautiful Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle costume for her grandson Jake. She was also a very talented quilter, knitter, and crocheter, making keepsakes for her children and grandchildren. She loved to bake and her tarts and meat pies were legendary. She also made a mean cherry cheesecake. Aileen renovated all her homes, painting, wallpapering, tiling, carpentry….whatever needed to be done. Mom enjoyed league bowling for many years. She was an excellent card player. She curled for a few years. She was also an avid reader. She was a stay at home mom to five children, and as a wife of a police officer, she was on her own quite often.

The family would like to extend many thanks to the staff of A.R. Goudie People Care for their excellent care of our wife/mother over the last 5 years. They treated her like a member of their own family and we truly appreciate the special work they do. Also we want to extend a thank you to Henry Walser Funeral Home for their assistance with Aileen’s arrangements. Go in Peace Mom. Job well done!

Aileen’s family will receive relatives and friends from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. & 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 3rd at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, Kitchener. A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 4th in the funeral home chapel at 10:30 a.m. with a reception to follow.
