Many cousins and extended family also remember her with love.
Jane was born on the family farm on the 8th Concession of Culross Bruce County in the beautiful red brick home built by her Father. Jane always remarked that she had a wonderful life and precious parents who guided her along the way. She was a kind, loving and gentle soul where her family was always first and foremost. She shared her sage wisdom and valued advice when asked which we will all miss so dearly. She was an outstanding cook with her specialty being Baking, as well as enjoying all sports, crafts and dancing. She was also a long-time member of Knox Presbyterian Church, Woodstock Ontario, the Canadian Kennel Club, the Oxford County Kennel Club, G.R Green Chapter of the I.O.D.E. and the Woodstock Agricultural Society. She worked as an Operator with Bell Canada and in later years was employed by Oxford Communications in Woodstock, Ontario. Jane and her husband and daughter owned “Solar Kennels Perm Registered” where they owned, bred and showed top winning Doberman Pinschers, Boxers and English Foxhounds for over 40 years travelling Canada and the United States. Jane truly loved spending time surrounded by family at her daughter’s cottage in Sauble Beach, which she enjoyed yearly including the summer of 2024. She so looked forward to driving by the water, ice cream trips, competitive euchre games and Otto’s barbequed steak.
As we remember Jane let us not dwell on the sorrow of her departure but rather celebrate the extraordinary life she lived. Let us honor her memory by embodying the qualities she so graciously exemplified: kindness, love and a zest for life to the end. As we bid farewell, we find solace in the countless memories and the legacy of love she leaves behind, and comfort in knowing that “Jane & Al” will be together once again.
At Jane’s request, a private family service will take place with a burial to follow at the Culross-Teeswater Cemetery, Teeswater, Ontario in the Spring. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude and thanks to the entire staff of the Woodstock Hospital for their kindness, support, professionalism and exemplary care during Jane’s hospitalization. We would also like to thank Sakura House so very sincerely for the wonderful care and compassion they provided to Jane as well as our family during her final days there.
