Near, Jeannette “Jenny” (Age 86, Hanover)

Jeannette “Jenny” Near, of Hanover, passed away at Hanover and District Hospital, on Monday, December 30th in her 87th year.

Survived by son David Black, and daughter Cathy & Wayne Fischer. Grandmother to Marissa and Dustin & Cortney, and great grandmother to Kira, Ashton, Blake, and Ryker. Step-mother of Rob & Johanna Near, and Denise & Tom Near and their children Elizabeth and Jonathon. Fondly remembered by her in-laws, as well as many nieces, nephews, and their families. Predeceased by her parents, 1st husband Al Black, and 2nd husband Don Near.

Visitation will be held at Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover, on Sunday, January 5th from 2-4 pm. Visitation will also be held at Holy Family Church, Hanover, on Monday, January 6th from 9:30 – 10:45 am, where a Funeral Mass will follow at 11 am. All are welcome. The service will be livestreamed through the church’s website. Interment in Holy Family Cemetery, Hanover.
