Marks, Janice (Age 98, Wingham)

At Braemar Nursing Home on Wednesday, July 16th, 2025, Janice (Strong) Marks of Wingham passed away two days before her 99th birthday.

Devoted wife of the late John C. Marks who predeceased her in 2005. Loving Mom of Gerald Marks & Connie Burke of Wingham and Joanne Whytock & Bruce Kennedy of Teeswater. Cherished Grandma of Cara Laffin of Wingham, Terri & Todd Smith of Grimsby, Lucas & Leanne Marks of Wingham, Leon & Jenn Whytock of Pembroke and Tom Whytock of Whitechurch and Great-Grandma of Carly, Cole and Cian Laffin, Adleigh and Norah Marks and Isla Whytock. Janice will be lovingly remembered by her sister Patricia Head of Sarnia and sister-in-law Carol Gilmore of Gowanstown and their families.

 Predeceased by her parents William & Jean (Edgar) Strong, son-in-law Barry Whytock and sisters Shirley and Margaret Strong in infancy.

 Janice trained to become a registered nurse in Kitchener before beginning a long and dedicated career in Wingham, where she served her community with compassion and professionalism for over 40 years. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Braemar Nursing Home for the exceptional care and kindness shown to Janice in her final years. Their gentle support and respect meant so much to both Janice and her loved ones.

 Private service with interment at Wingham Cemetery will be held.

 In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Wingham & District Hospital Foundation or the Braemar Resident’s Council would be appreciated.
