\"\"Sophie SCHNEYDERBERG (nee Hoogland)<\/b> peacefully, with grace and dignity, on Sunday, February 16<\/span>th<\/span>, 2020 at the age of 98.\u00a0 She was under the kind and capable care of Kincardine Hospital\u2019s Palliative Care unit, having spent the years since Tony\u2019s passing, in the comfortable care of Tiverton Park Manor. Predeceased by her beloved husband of 69 years Anthony \u201cTony\u201d Gerard Schneyderberg. Survived by her sisters Theresa, in Saskatoon and Maria, in Holland. Devoted mother of Tony and Diane Schneyderberg of Orangeville, Maria and Ron Kerslake of Medicine Hat, Chris and Brenda Schneyderberg of Toronto, Angela and Steve Rostad of Medicine Hat and Cindy and Dave Bruggeman of Kincardine. Cherished grandmother of Steve and Karen Schneyderberg, Jeff and Michaela Schneyderberg, Pamela and Scott Balkwill, Jessica and Andrew Dahmer, Jay and Casey Kerslake, Amy and Willy Hollett, Andy and Jen Kerslake, Charity Schneyderberg, Danny Schneyderberg, Jeremy and Chasidy Schneyderberg, Shawn Schneyderberg, Taralee and Chris Rostad, Jesse Rostad, Jacquie and James Bruggeman, and Cameron and Iryna Bruggeman. Treasured great-grandmother of Connor and Tori, Jeremy, Garrett, Eric, Myles, Matthew, Tyler, Tayah, Alexis, Jordan, Jacob, Jasmine, Wyatt, Everett, Seeger, Mason, Jonah, Julie, Emily, Gracie and McKenna. Beloved great-great-grandmother of Olivia.<\/span>
\nBorn on November 18, 1921, in Voorburg, Holland, Sophie was 7 months pregnant when Tony sailed to Canada to prepare the way for her. Sophie along with her newborn and two other children followed shortly after to Stratford, Ontario in 1953, where she set up house for Tony and their three, then four, then five children. Upon retirement Tony and Sophie toured \u201cthis great country\u201d from coast to coast. In 1997 Tony and Sophie moved to Kincardine where they enjoyed daily walks by the lake, and where Sophie swam marathons in the local pool twice a week, well into her 90\u2019s.
\nMom, When Dad passed away you told us that he, maybe, was going ahead, again, to prepare a place for you. Sister, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Great-Great-Grandmother, we love you and miss you, but we know that you are where you finally want to be \u2026 with the man you love, in your little cottage by the sea. God bless you both.
\nVisitation will be held at Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine on Friday, February 21st<\/span>, 2020 from 5 to 8 PM. The Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, Kincardine on Saturday, February 22<\/span>nd<\/span>, 2020 at 11 AM with Father Thomas <\/span>Manninezhath<\/span> as celebrant.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Interment to follow at the Kincardine Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to <\/span>Davey-Linklater Funeral Home<\/b><\/a>, Kincardine.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.<\/span><\/p>\n
