Grandfather\u00a0of Alex Rundle and Hunter Obee, Maddi Rundle and Justin Siek, Evan Rundle and friend Hayley Wilson, Abby LePage and Brian Reissaus, Zo\u00eb LePage,\u00a0Matt and Amanda McCann, Mallory McCann and Josh Hoffman.\u00a0 Great grandfather of Evie, Ethan, Amelia, Hattie, Olive and Mya.\u00a0Brother of Pat Demmerling\u00a0and Bob Rundle and friend Velma Bramhill, and brother-in-law of Kay Rundle.\u00a0 Fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews and friends.\u00a0 Predeceased by a baby girl in infancy, parents Phil and Ruthadelle (McIntyre) Rundle and brothers John and Bill Rundle, brother-in-law Earl Demmerling and sister-in-law Ardythe Rundle.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Paddy and Dorothy have had a long and loving marriage, true partners in everyday life and in all endeavors.\u00a0 For over\u00a040 years Paddy and Dorothy owned and operated The Rundle Feed Mill in Palmerston.\u00a0 Everything they did, they did together!\u00a0\u00a0They shared a love of the many horses they had over the years and both were avid equestrians.\u00a0 Later they transformed the site of their island cottage at Red Bay truly into \u2018Another World\u2019, building a family gathering place from the ground up.\u00a0 One\u00a0of their other great pleasures as a couple was their yearly trip to the Barbados.\u00a0 After going there for almost 30 years they became practically\u00a0honorary\u00a0citizens.\u00a0 Paddy will be missed by\u00a0friends they made there from around the world.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Paddy joined the Palmerston Lion&#8217;s Club in 1956 and was an active member up until his death.\u00a0 In the Lion&#8217;s Club he held the positions of Secretary, President, Deputy District Governor,\u00a0Zone Chair,\u00a0District Governor, and was honoured by his fellow Lions with the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award for dedicated humanitarian services.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A dedicated supporter of his community, in addition to his work with the Lions Club, Paddy sat on the Hospital Board for 4 years, was a member of the Town Council for 6 years, was the Secretary of the Palmerston Board of Trade and served as the President of the Ontario Grain and Feed Dealers Association.\u00a0\u00a0Paddy held the position of the President of the Agricultural Society and Dorothy and Paddy organized and ran the Fall Fair Horse show for many years.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Paddy was respected and admired by all who have been lucky enough to know him as a friend or through his many business ventures.\u00a0\u00a0For such a quiet and unassuming man Paddy accomplished so much and was loved by all. He will be missed by his family and many, many friends.\u00a0Dorothy and her family would like to thank Dr. Phil Deacon and the staff of The Palmerston Hospital for the care a compassion shown to Paddy and to them during this difficult time.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To honour Paddy&#8217;s wishes cremation has taken place.\u00a0 There will a celebration of Paddy&#8217;s life and achievements at a later date and will be announced at that time. Arrangements entrusted to the Heritage Funeral Home, Palmerston.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As expressions of sympathy, donations to The Palmerston Lions Club, St. Paul&#8217;s Anglican Church, the Palmerston Hospital Foundation or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Paddy Rundle passed away peacefully at Palmerston Hospital on Sunday, September 6th at 89 years of age.
