Harold Raymond Poechman, formerly of Carlsruhe, passed away peacefully at Brucelea
\nHaven in Walkerton on Wednesday, October 28, 2020. He was 91.
\nBorn on October 16, 1929 in Brant Township to the late Linus and Helen (nee Weiler)
\nPoechman. Actively involved in many organizations, Harold was a member of the Ontario
\nFederation of Agriculture, Knights of Columbus, Grey Bruce Catholic School Board, as
\nwell as Grey Bruce Mutual Insurance Board. He enjoyed being a pork and poultry
\nproducer as well as a member of St. Francis Xavier Church in Carlsruhe. He loved being
\ninvolved and committed to various organizations.
\nSurvived by children Gerald (Marlene) Poechman of Walkerton, Barb (Steve) Schuknecht
\nof Chesley, Marianne Poechman of Walkerton and Wayne (Jan) Poechman of Walkerton.
\nLoved grandfather of Maria, Matthew, Melissa, Nathan, Ben, Daniel, Sean, Katie, Mary
\nSue, Jacob, Paul, Christine, Heather, Shawna and great grandfather of Peyton, Easton, Ilan,
\nLuna, Charlotte, Karissa, Ava, Aviv, Brooklyn and Colton. Dear brother of Allan (Joan)
\nPoechman of Walkerton, Edith Austin of Kitchener, and brother in law of Dianne
\nPoechman of Kitchener. Predeceased by his wife Mary (nee Zettler), brothers Francis and
\nWillard Poechman, sister Lillian Tubbs and brother in law Evan Austin.
\nA Public Visitation will be held at Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover, on Friday, October
\n30, 2020 from 6-8 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2020 at
\n10:00 am, at Holy Family Church, Hanover.
\nAs per the provincial regulations and COVID-19 restrictions, all visitors are
\nrequested to wear a mask when inside the funeral home as well as the
\nchurch. The maximum number allowed at any one time at the funeral home
\nis 40 people including immediate family. All social distancing measures will
\nbe taken. If friends wish to attend the Funeral Mass, please contact the Funeral Home at
\n519-364-3660, as there is a limit of 40 additional seats.
\nFor those wishing to view the service from the comfort of home, the Mass will be live
\nstreamed by going online to www.holyfamily.ca\/media Father Emmanuel Azike
\nofficiating. Interment in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Carlsruhe, Ontario.
