Georgina Evelyn (nee Crone (Brooks)) Hughes of Listowel passed away at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, November 24, 2020, in her 88th year.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Wife of the late Max Hughes.\u00a0 Mother of Larry Brooks of Listowel, Debbie & Neil Mack of Listowel, and Peggy & Rae Wells of Durham, and remembered by their father Bill Brooks.\u00a0\u00a0 Mother-in-law of Darlene Brooks, and Ann Brooks.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Grandmother of Charlene and Murray, Steven, Scott and Nancy, David and Jessica, Sarah and Shawn, and Brian, great-grandmother of 8, and loved by her many nieces, nephews, and friends.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Stepmother of Barbara Smith of Bobcaygeon, and Bonnie & Jim Regele of Listowel, and step-grandmother of Shirley and Wayne.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Predeceased by her parents George and Myrtle (Richards) Crone, her sons Douglas and William, sisters Eunice and Myrna, and by her brother Milton.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Georgina was an active member of St. Paul\u2019s Lutheran Church, Listowel, where she was a tireless volunteer that was always ready and happy to help.\u00a0 She also served as the Girl Guide Commissioner for many years, and volunteered with the V.O.N.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Visitation will be held at the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.\u00a0 Due to COVID-19 restrictions, visitors must schedule a time to attend on the funeral home website by selecting RSVP on Georgina\u2019s page, or by calling the funeral home at 519-291-4840. Everyone attending must wear a mask.<\/p>\n
A private family funeral service will be held at St. Paul\u2019s Lutheran Church, Listowel on Friday, November 27th<\/sup>\u00a0at 11:00 a.m.\u00a0 Rev. Ralph Dwarika officiating. The service will be recorded and the link available on the funeral home website.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Interment in Fairview Cemetery, Listowel.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Memorial donations to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Listowel would be appreciated.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
