Garth Brooks surprised Ashley McBryde yesterday on “CBS Mornings” with an invite to become a member of the Grand Ole Opry.<\/p>\n
He had called into the show over video from the Opry.<\/p>\n
“It’s the longest living family in music history. You belong in it. We need you. You’ll make it stronger for decades to come.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Of course, Ashley accepted.<\/p>\n
“This is a lifelong\u2026this is, I mean, there\u2019s Grammys and there\u2019s being a member of the Grand Ole Opry are the two greatest things that could ever happen to you as an entertainer. I\u2019ve always said I will earn it and this is a pretty surreal moment.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Ashley joins a list of 70 other members that includes Dolly Parton, Darius Rucker, Vince Gill, Carrie Underwood, and, of course, Loretta Lynn.<\/p>\n
