Chris Stapleton earned three new heavy metal certifications from the Recording Industry Association of America.<\/p>\n
It took a while, but his song \u201cI Was Wrong,\u201d on his 2017 album, From A Room: Volume 2 has now been certified Platinum.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Devil Always Made Me Think Twice\u201d from Starting Over was certified Gold.<\/p>\n
And he picked up even more Gold for his latest single, \u201cWhite Horse.\u201d<\/p>\n
Chris recently shared the back story of that song.<\/p>\n
\u201c\u2019White Horse\u2019 was a song that I wrote with my friend, Dan Wilson. We were out in Los Angeles, it was about I think probably late 2012, early 2013, and there was a movie called the Lone Ranger that was coming out, and I walked in the room to write with Dan at his house, and he said, \u2018Hey they\u2019re looking for songs for this Lone Ranger movie.\u2019 I said, \u2018Cool. Let\u2019s write something. What do you know about it?\u2019 He goes, \u2018Well, we don\u2019t really know anything.\u2019 I was like, \u2018Well, let\u2019s just make a song that might sound like that.\u2019 And so, that\u2019s kind of where that came from, and we got to talking about how it would be cool to have a kind of rock-driven-western-themed song, and that\u2019s kind of where the song came from and we kind of built it around a guitar riff, really.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
