Morgan Wallen’s bar in downtown Nashville is set to open this weekend.<\/p>\n
Unfortunately, the last time Morgan was drinking down there he threw a chair off a bar roof and nearly hit two police officers.<\/p>\n
His bar is still opening on schedule, but there was one small snag.<\/p>\n
The owners had wanted to put up a 20-foot neon sign with Morgan’s name on it, but that plan was just overwhelmingly defeated by the Nashville City Council on a vote of 30-3.<\/p>\n

Council member Delishia Porterfield said,<\/p>\n
“I don’t want to see a billboard with the name of a person who’s throwing chairs off of balconies and who’s saying racial slurs.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
To be fair, there is already a sign on the building, and this would have been a second, larger sign.<\/p>\n
