Zach Cregger’s highly anticipated horror film, “Weapons,” and Disney’s sequel comedy, “Freakier Friday,” helped prove that horror and humor can thrive at the box office.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“Weapons” opened with $42.5 million domestically to take the top spot, and the Disney follow up to “Freaky Friday” earned $29 million.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A Warner Bros. executive says “Weapons” was the studio’s seventh film this year to take the top spot, and the sixth film in a row to debut over $40 million.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Paul Dergarabedian of the data firm Comscore says “the top two films could not be more different, and that’s what makes this weekend so appealing.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Colin Farrell will receive the Golden Icon Award at the 2025 Zurich Film Festival, recognizing his performance in Ballad of a Small Player and his career achievements. On Thursday night, Sheeran dropped the music video for \u201cA Little More,\u201d starring the Harry Potter alum 14 years after he appeared in Sheeran\u2019s \u201cLego House\u201d music video. And as he did in \u201cLego House,\u201d Grint plays the same Sheeran-obsessed fan.<\/span><\/p>\n

This time around, Grint\u2019s character can\u2019t stop seeing Sheeran everywhere he goes, including on billboards, at the gym, on TV and in a movie.
