His death fell on the 20th anniversary of his first appearance as plastic surgeon Dr. Mark Sloan, aka McSteamy, on Grey’s and less than a year after revealing his diagnosis of ALS or Lou Gherig’s disease. His memoir, ‘Book of Days: A Memoir in Moments’ is scheduled to be published late this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
