Stephen Colbert <\/strong>is about to wrap up The Late Show With Stephen Colbert next week and yesterday was his birthday. His guest was Tom Hanks<\/strong>, who surprised him with a gift: a box of dot matrix paper. He then gave\u00a0Colbert an Underwood typewriter — for resume writing he said — and also tossed in a bag of his Hanks Coffee, which he’s selling to benefit veterans. Hanks was there to pitch his new History channel documentary, “World War II With Tom Hanks.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

People reported this week that \u201cThe Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon<\/strong>\u201d will skip a new episode on May 21 \u2014 the night that\u00a0\u201cThe Late Show with Stephen Colbert\u201d airs its finale. Instead, Fallon\u2019s show will air a rerun.\u00a0\u201cJimmy Kimmel <\/strong>Live!\u201d will also forgo a new episode that night, opting for a repeat in honor of Colbert\u2019s final farewell on late-night television.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Matthew Perry<\/strong>\u2019s drug addiction counsellor Erik Fleming was sentenced Wednesday to two years in prison in connection with Perry’s death in 2023. Fleming purchased ketamine from Jasveen Sangha — the so-called Ketamine Queen — \u00a0then sold it to Perry for a sizable profit, and delivered it to the actor\u2019s personal aide Kenneth Iwamasa, who administered the dose on the day he died. Iwamasa will be sentenced later this month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jay Leno<\/strong> announced that he’s giving away a\u00a02026 Chevrolet Corvette C8 Stingray to a lucky contestant on Wheel of Fortune<\/strong>. The luxury sports car, worth more than $70,000, is part of the show’s\u00a0Big Money Week in association with Yaamava\u2019 Resort & Casino.
