Sir Patrick Stewart<\/strong>, best known for portraying Jean-Luc Picard on ‘Star Trek: The Next Generation<\/strong>‘ and Professor Charles Xavier in the ‘X-Men’ f<\/strong>ilms, has died at 86. According to his family the beloved actor experienced ‘a brief and poignant journey with Alzheimer\u2019s disease and Lewy body dementia.’ Tributes all mention his talent, his philanthropy, his intelligence and grace. He once told the story that when he was offered Star Trek: The Next Generation, his good friend Sir Ian McKellen <\/strong>said \u2018Don\u2019t take that job.\u2019 He told him it would ruin what he had going on as a stage actor in London’s West End. McKellan has since apologized. We will see Patrick Stewart one final time later this year as Professor Charles Xavier in ‘Avengers: Doomsday.’<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the movies, the war movie ‘The Mosquito Bowl’<\/strong> is set after the attack on Pearl Harbour in WWII. It stars Nicholas Galitzine, Tom Francis, Bill Skarsg\u00e5rd, and Ray Nicholson\u2026 ‘Christmas at the Kringles’<\/strong> stars Rachel Bilson and Rob Riggle who move to a suburban neighborhood where their neighbors, the Kringles, celebrate Christmas year-round and harbor sinister intentions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also in theaters, ‘The Mongoose’ <\/strong>stars Liam Neeson<\/strong> as a war hero falsely accused of a crime. He leads police on a televised cross-country car chase with help from his former special forces battalion. Marisa Tomei, Vhing Rames and Michael Chiklis also star.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Friday on Netflix it’s the SCTV documentary<\/strong> ‘The Greatest Show You\u2019ve Never Heard Of’\u2026 also, ‘Dexter: Resurrection’ has its season premiere on Paramount+\u2026 and a new season of ‘The Gilded Age’<\/strong> premieres Sunday night on HBO Max.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Plus, last year, Downtown Stratford was transformed into the set for a Christmas movie. And today, we can see Stratford as the backdrop for \u201cPining for Douglas,\u201d<\/strong> premiering at 8PM on W Network!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
