The first Chatham-Kent Budget Information Open Houses are this week across the municipality.

The public is invited to come out to meet their Councillors, ask any questions and voice their concerns relating to the 2019 Municipal Budget.

The Open Houses run from 4:30-6.

Tonight (Tuesday)

  • Ken Houston Memorial Agricultural Centre, 1212 North St., Dresden
  • Tilbury Arena, Ryder Hall, 55 Bond Ave., Tilbury

Wednesday

  • Blenheim High School Cafeteria, 163 Chatham St. S., Blenheim;
  • Wallaceburg Municipal Office, 786 Dufferin Ave., Wallaceburg

Thursday

  • Active Lifestyle Centre, 20 Merritt Avenue, Chatham

Everyone is welcome for a suggested donation of $2 at the door.


During his address from the Vatican on Sunday, Pope Francis introduced an app for iPhones and Androids called Click to Pray, where you can pray with the Pope online, and see what he’s praying for.

Available on both iPhone and Android phones, it will allow over 1 billion Catholics worldwide to pray with the Pope online.


The Montreal Festival of Snow (Fete des neiges de Montreal) was cancelled this weekend, because of a snow storm.

Apparently the organizers want to celebrate snow, but they felt like a major snowstorm with freezing temperatures was too much snow for the festival to handle. They’re going to give it another shot this weekend.

It’s the 36th annual Festival of Snow.


KFC is giving away candles that smell like gravy.

For now they’re only in the UK, and there are only 230 of them.
