If you missed it, on Friday it was announced that the Internet’s Grumpy Cat has died of complications from a urinary tract infection last week. She was 7.
Grumpy Cat’s real name was Tardar Sauce, with a ‘D,’ and she became a viral phenomenon in 2012, after her owner’s brother posted a photo of her on Reddit. Grumpy Cat had 8.5 million total followers on Facebook, 2.6 million followers on Instagram, and 1.5 million followers on Twitter.
Within just six months of her Internet fame, the family said Grumpy Cat had earned them income in the “mid-five figures,” which soon increased to the “low-six-figures” a few months later. The family has not disclosed the Grumpy Cat brand’s net worth, but online speculation puts it anywhere between $1,000,000 and $100,000,000. There’s a ton of licensing and merchandising, and all that was well monetized.
The Golden State Warriors are headed to their fifth straight NBA Finals. They beat the Portland Trail Blazers last night, to take the Western Conference Finals 4 games to none.

They’ll play the winner of the Milwaukee/Toronto series. They play tonight, with Milwaukee leading the series 2 games to 1.
