Researchers have found a way to take anyone’s blood, and convert it into type-O blood. Which is the universal donor kind.
This is a pretty big breakthrough. Each person is born with one blood type — A, B, AB, and O — and it determines the type of blood they can receive in a transfusion. Inject them with the “wrong” type, and the reaction can be fatal. The discovery was made by researchers at the University of British Columbia.
The team plans to conduct further studies to ensure the process removes all the blood antigens. If it does, all that converted type A blood would nearly double the amount of universal donor blood available.

Airbnb is now offering organized trips with accommodations, meals, and activities. It’s called Airbnb Adventures.
There are more than 200 different Adventure options, giving travelers the chance to book more than just a place to stay. Led by local experts, the trips offer a bucket list worthy experiences.
They’re promoting it with a special Around the World in 80 Days offer; six continents, 18 countries, 12 weeks, for $5,000. While most Adventures do not include flights, the cost of the trip includes travel between the destinations, ranging from flights, boats, helicopters, and a hot air balloon.
Travelers don’t need to set aside $5,000 and 12 weeks to join an Adventure — the average price of a three-day trip is $588. The most affordable options are overnight trips that start at $79.
