July 5, 2019 5:25 amFYI – The Keil Drive Bridge in Chatham will have 2 lanes of traffic closed intermittently until July 18 for maintenance and repairs. One lane of traffic in both directions will remain open but you can expect delays.
Ribfest kicks off today in Tecumseh Park. There will be a number of different ribbers, as well as family friendly events including live music, carnival rides and a pet stunt show. Hours are 11am-11pm today & tomorrow, and 11am-6pm Sunday. More info here.
Movies in the Park kicks off tonight! Every Friday night through the summer, a free movie will be shown at parks across Chatham-Kent. Head to Kingston Park in Chatham tonight to see Boss Baby. Movies start at dusk but come early for free family activities starting at 7.
PlayPods could be coming to a park near you this summer!
The PlayPods which are essentially small storage containers will move around to 12 communities this summer, spending 2 weeks in each community at the local park, giving your kids a chance to play with things like the Imagination Playground, Mini Scooters, life-sized board games, and more. The Play Pods will be open Friday nights from 6-8pm and Saturdays and Sundays from 11am-3pm. This weekend you’ll find them at Merlin Kinsmen Park, Thamesville Ferguson Park and Ridgetown Kiwanis Park.

National Fishing Week continues until Sunday. It’s a chance to encourage Canadians to get outdoors and enjoy the benefits of recreational fishing. You can fish through Sunday without a fishing licence.
